Fairview, Field Crest receive state emergency funding

Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center and Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield are among are among facilities to receive funds from the second round of emergency aid to nursing homes, State Sen. Carla Nelson said recently. This funding is part of the bipartisan $300 million package passed by the Minnesota legislature in 2023 to address the crisis facing nursing homes across the state.

DC man charged with criminal sexual conduct following incident at city pool

A Dodge Center man was arrested and charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct — 2nd Degree — Contact under 14 — Actor > 36m older after the Dodge Center City Pool manager reported a man acting inappropriately with juvenile females.
According to the criminal complaint, a Dodge County Deputy met with the manager on July 29 “who pointed out the suspect and contact was made with him.”

Highway 56 resurfacing begins Aug. 12 in West Concord

Motorists traveling on Highway 56 will encounter a lane closure beginning Aug. 12 when crews resurface the road in West Concord, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Prime contractor Rochester Sand & Gravel is scheduled to begin resurfacing Highway 56 from Southview Street to Dodge County Road 24 in West Concord on Aug. 12.

Ibisch declines job offer in Tennessee

A week after Kasson City Administrator Tim Ibisch left Minnesota to interview for the city manager position in Loudon, Tenn., and was offered the position, pending successful negotiations, Ibisch said he is rejecting the job offer.
Asked why he decided against taking the job, Ibisch in an email Tuesday morning said “Nothing particular,” and when asked wrote “I’m not currently looking at anything else.”
