IT’S A ROAD!

Highway 57 is starting to look like a road again after being dug up since April. Water and storm sewer work is now completed and contractors have turned to preparing the road bed to get ready for the paving which will be starting soon, weather permitting.

Kasson liquor store, tobacco shop, caught selling THC edibles against state rules

There are two businesses in the city of Kasson currently selling hemp-derived THC edibles, and both stores, including the city-owned liquor store, were selling products that violated the state’s standards, during a recent educational visit, according to Police Chief Josh Hanson.

Mantorville businesses see end of construction tunnel

Downtown Mantorville businesses are “struggling,” one restaurant owner says, but the road construction project that has torn up Highway 57 passing through downtown is nearly over.
“That’s the bright side, said Sakhann “Michelle” Douk, co-owner of the County Seat Coffeehouse in downtown Mantorville. What’s more, customers have been loyal during the mayhem.

Absentee voting underway across Minnesota

Dodge County voters will have the chance to vote early in the upcoming Aug. 13 state primary elections as of last Friday until Aug.12.

Eligible voters in Olmsted County can vote absentee for the August 13, 2024, primary election. Absentee ballots can be requested through the Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State.There are several ways Olmsted County residents may cast an absentee ballot.

1924 Kasson Graduation Class Has Reunion
The Kasson High School class of 1924 celebrated their golden anniversary June 28th at the home of Stella Beaver in Kasson.
Twelve members and their spouses were present. The High School principal Rev. Marlo Berger and Mrs. M. Berger of Dayton, Ohio, were guests.
