Richard Earl Henslin, 86, Dodge Center

Richard Earl Henslin, 86, was ushered into heaven by angels to meet his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Dec. 2, 2015.  A memorial service was held at Pleasant Corners United Methodist Church on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015. Richard was born to Reuben and Elma (Bartel) Henslin on Jan. 11, 1929. He graduated from Dodge Center High School as an honor student in 1946. He graduated with a bachelor of arts degree from Macalester College in 1950.

Blossoms matmen 1-2 in quad to start season

After wining the second match in a quadrangular meet at St. Clair, the Blooming Prairie wrestling team is already halfway to its win total of a year ago. 
The Blossoms defeated the host Cyclones 40-25 in the second match of the invitational at St. Clair on Tuesday, Dec. 1, to win one and lose two for the night. 

BREAKING NEWS: Arrest made with threats toward Triton High School

On December 3, 2015 deputies from the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office received a report that 18-year-old senior at Triton High School had made threats towards the school.

Extra DWI patrols coming to Dodge County

Festive eating, drinking and unfortunately DWIs are all part of holiday celebrations this time of year. As people get together for the holidays, Dodge County law enforcement agencies will be taking drunk drivers off the road as they conduct extra DWI patrols.
The extra enforcement campaign began Nov. 25 and runs on weekends through Jan. 2, 2016. 

Feedlot controversy flares up again

A group fighting to protect the area’s ground water has launched another attack in its continued battle against feedlots in Dodge County. 
On Monday the Dodge County Concerned Citizens filed an objection with the county’s planning commission to block a proposed swine feedlot in Hayfield Township. Hog producer Jason Masching is seeking to build a feedlot that would house 3,300 pigs. 

Byron man killed in holiday crash

A Byron man has been killed in a Thanksgiving Day crash in Olmsted County.
The State Patrol identified the victim as Casey W. Beach, 24. Two other people received non-life threatening injuries in the three-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 52 north of Chatfield. They were Thomas E. Collins, 29, of St. Louis Park and Ashley J. Farley, 32, of Eagan. Two others escaped injury in the crash.
