The City of Kasson Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, July 11, at 6:30 pm in the Kasson City Council Chambers.   The purpose of the Hearing will be for the Commission to take public comments on a proposal to rescind the Variance issued for 101 3rd St. NW to 1918 Kasson Public School LLLP.

Cherished wife of 63 years, adored Mother and sister, beloved grandmother and revered teacher, Margaret Adelaide Johnson, 96,  passed away peacefully at May Creek Lodge, Walker, Minn., on June 22, 2016, taking her grace, wit and beauty, but not her  loving presence, from this earth.

David Harold Dobbs, 57, Wasioja

David Harold Dobbs, 57, of Wasioja passed away at home on Father’s Day, June 19, 2016, after a year-and-a-half fight against a rare neuroendocrine cancer.   

David Ernest Delzer, 88, Mantorville

David Ernest Delzer, 88, was called home Saturday morning, June 25, 2016, from the Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center, Minn., where he resided for 15 days.

Stabbing victim’s condition improves

The condition of a 41-year-old stabbing victim in West Concord has improved, the West Concord Police Chief reports.
Chief Shannon Boerner said that the unidentified victim is in stable condition at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester. Boerner said investigators met with the victim Friday to get his side of what happened during the violent attack in West Concord Thursday afternoon.

Greg the great magician will be performing Thursday, June 30 at 10:30 a.m. at Kasson-Mantorville Elementary School Gym. Presented as part of the “Read for the Win” Summer Reading Program.

Helping charity with wood-fired pizza

A couple weeks ago I stopped by the Berne church where my daughter and I enjoyed wood-fired pizza. Not only did we get a slice of yummy meat lover’s pizza, but we also got a slice of Swiss heritage. 

Jimmy’s Pizza changing of the guard

“My children think I’ll gain weight.” Said Lisa Tenkley, new co-owner of Jimmy’s Pizza in Kasson.  The chain is the same,  but there has been a changing of the guard in Kasson’s downtown premiere pizza shop.  

Vintage bomber lands in Dodge

The quiet pristine skies over Dodge Center were quiet and peaceful until about 7:30 a.m. Sunday morning.   Suddenly the  distant drone of a single airplane engine was heard and initiated a line of planes from all over the Midwest.
