Byron School Board member receives DFL endorsement for District 24A

Byron School Board member Heather Holmes, has secured the DFL endorsement for House District 24 A during the Senate District Committee convention, on Saturday, April 27.

Property taxes due May 15

Property owners are reminded that the 1st Half Real Estate Taxes and 1st Half Agricultural Land Taxes are due by May 15. The payment stub for the first half or a full payment can be found at the bottom of the tax statement. The payment for the second half of the taxes is directly above.
In Dodge County payments can be made by mail, drop box, in-person, or online.

Rev. A.J. Collins, minister of First Congregational Church of Mantorville has announced that the ‘Lower Lights Quartet’ of Forest Lake, Minnesota will appear at the church on Friday, May 3, at 8:00 p.m.

Man arrested after high-speed chase

A Kasson man is in jail after authorities say he led law enforcement on a high-speed chase through two counties while driving impaired.
Ryan Matthew Vangness, 38, is expected to make his initial appearance in Steele County District Court on Thursday. He faces one felony count each of DWI-operate motor vehicle under influence of controlled substance and fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle.

Worker killed in accident at Con-Tech

An employee at Con-Tech Manufacturing in Dodge Center was fatally injured in an accident at the plant Monday morning.
Dodge County Sheriff Scott Rose said dispatchers received a call from Con-Tech just after 10 a.m. reporting an employee had been crushed in an accident.
When deputies arrived at the scene at 10:10 a.m. they found Con-Tech staff doing CPR on the victim, 63-year-old Teofilo Gonzalez.
