For years Robert Jarrett worked as a police officer. It’s what he always wanted to do.
But then, after years of missing family events, holidays, nights, and weekends, he decided he wanted to change careers, going back to law school, eventually graduating, and getting his first gig out of law school working as a prosecutor for the Steele County Attorney’s Office.

Somerby Golf Club in Byron will be facing a one day suspension of its liquor license, after being caught selling to a minor.
The City Council on June 11, voted unanimously in support of the punishment, which could’ve ranged between at least one-day suspension, and up to 60 days, per the ordinance.

With the future funding mechanism of the Dodge Center Ambulance still in flux, the department will have some more certainty with its leader, after Interim Director AJ Gengler was named the permanent director following a vote by the Dodge Center City Council at their June 10 meeting.
“I am excited to have the opportunity to step into the director role and be part of the great team at Dodge Center Ambulance,” Gengler said.

The 4th annual Aidan Hegge Memorial Golf Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, June 22, this year at the Dodge Country Club in Dodge Center. The event honors the memory of Aidan Hegge, while raising funds for suicide prevention and youth mental health efforts.
Thirty-six teams are scheduled to tee off at 11 a.m.
Everyone, golfer or not, is invited to come and watch the action.
