For several weeks the local paper has reported on local athletic records being set. New boys’ basketball scoring records were set at K-M and Triton. Several area girl players were recognized for scoring 1,000 or 2,000 points in their careers. Coaches set records for wins or number of games coached. Sports are very good at keeping track of records.

St. Patrick’s Day will be coming a bit early to Kasson this year as the Kasson Chamber of Commerce St. Paddy’s Day celebration is planned for this Saturday, March 8.
Activities get under way at 9 a.m. with the St. Paddy’s Day 5K starting at the Main Alternative.
From 1 to 3 p.m. there will be a variety of family-oriented activities in downtown Kasson.

Three 2025 projects were advanced at the February 26 Kasson City Council meeting totaling almost $9,000,000. The three projects are a new water tower south of Highway 14, new streetlights for downtown, and street improvements in the southwest quadrant of town north of Highway 14 and south of Second Street.

Now, it’s possible Roder may be the de facto CEO of a city owned cannabis dispensary in the near future, as the city is prepared to move forward with applying for a municipal owned cannabis dispensary license.

Kasson-Mantorville’s School Board has named Angie Richards and Pat Walsh as candidates to replace Board Member Amy Olson who resigned earlier this month.

And that’s why it came as no surprise to anyone when she pulled over to help two injured women who crashed their vehicles on a foggy morning in late December near West Concord.
As Brose came upon the wreckage, she dialed 911 before getting out of her own car to help the drivers whose vehicles were reportedly on fire, according to Nan Wandrey, Brose’s mother who lives in Owatonna.
