Huge challenge looms for Wildcats

The Dodge County Wildcats have a big challenge coming into this week, as they’ll face three teams that are in the upper echelon of Class AA. With Breck (ranked second), Chaska (10th) and Eden Prairie (fifth) on the schedule, it’s a chance for the Wildcats to show that they can play with some of the top teams in the state.

Early in the season, the Triton Cobras boys basketball team has been able to stay competitive, but when games get too close, you can only test fate so many times. The Cobras came up on the short end after a successful tournament a week ago by falling to Bethlehem Academy 56-53 in Fairbault last Tuesday night.

For the Dodge County girls hockey team, its first lesson came at the Academy of Holy Angels Thanksgiving tournament in Richfield, where the team fell to Benilde-St. Margarets on Friday night, but rebounded to defeat Holy Angels on Saturday.
