Wildcats push unbeaten streak to six games

In the game of hockey, a strong scoring from the blue line is a great luxury to have. For the Dodge County Wildcats, they haven’t had too much scoring punch from their defensemen this year, but they’ve begun to pick up the pace and play more aggressively which opened up the offense as the team stretched their unbeaten streak to six games after tying Hayfield and defeating Bloomington Jefferson last week.

Triton rebounds against K-W

The Triton boys basketball team had a tough week dropping games to Cannon Falls and Lake City, but were able to rebound to defeat Kenyon-Wanamingo to close out the week.
The week began with a trip to Cannon Falls on Jan. 5 as the Cobras tried to solve their woes playing on the road. After a first half in which they played evenly with the Bombers, Triton fell behind in the second half and wound up falling by a score of 71-63.

Cobras pick up first win of the season

The Triton girls basketball team has been searching for their first win through the first month of the season, but has found little success. Whether it be poor shooting, turnovers or a stroke of bad luck, the Cobras haven’t been able to find their way into the left-hand column in 2015.

Wildcats take out Apple Valley to win Warroad Tournament

The Dodge County Wildcats are poised to make a run in February’s state tournament, but their final game in the Warroad tournament on Dec. 29 served as a final reminder that the biggest part of the season is yet to come. With the 8-2 victory over Apple Valley, the Wildcats came from behind and showed the brand of hockey they need to play down the stretch.

Wildcats roll with two wins at Warroad

The Dodge County Wildcats have been riding a wave of momentum over the past week as they picked up a victory over New Ulm before heading up to Warroad and picking up a two more victories in a holiday tournament.
The week began for Dodge County by hosting New Ulm at Four Seasons Ice Arena on Dec. 22. This game represented another strong test for the Wildcats as the Eagles were ranked 13th in Class A heading into the contest.

KoMets earn big victory at Stewartville

The Kasson-Mantorville boys basketball team seems to be hitting its stride after an early rough stretch to the season. With several injuries, shooting slumps and defensive lapses, the beginning of the year hasn’t gone completely to plan, but showed plenty of promise after a 65-40 victory at Stewartville on Dec. 22.

Wildcats pick up their first pair of victories

Throughout the first six games of the season, the Dodge County Wildcats had been improving, but were still looking for their first victory. However, since their opening game against St. Paul Como Park that slipped away in overtime, they had been making strides.
