There are not many opportunities for the newspaper industry to showcase what life was once like in the business many years ago. But there is one chance thousands of visitors to the Minnesota State Fair get each year to catch a glimpse of living history of newspapers.

The Kasson-Mantorville girls soccer team will hold an epilepsy awareness game on Saturday afternoon when they face St. Peter at KMTelecom Stadium. The game, which is slated for a 4 p.m. kickoff, will have plenty of festivities for fans including T-shirts, a raffle at halftime and an auction.

K-M strong in opening victory Heading into this season, the Kasson-Mantorville football team found themselves on much more stable ground than this time a year ago.

In the years since she graduated from Triton High School in 1999 Maria Welch has probably done more traveling and had more interesting experiences than most of her classmates.

After enlisting in the Peace Corps, shortly after John F. Kennedy created the program, a Kasson-Mantorville graduate found his new home.

Library Director Art Tiff opened the event by welcoming everyone to the ‘health club for the brain,’ and quipped, “It’s great to see so many brains.”
