The Kasson-Mantorville boys soccer team opened with an up-and-down week that saw a crushing defeat against Albert Lea, but a solid section victory against La Crescent.

One year ago, the Kasson-Mantorville and Triton football teams hit the field at KMTelecom Stadium in anticipation for what the 2015 season would bring. For the Cobras, their 20-6 victory that afternoon helped set the tone for a 7-3 year that was fueled by a strong pass rush and steady ground game. Meanwhile the KoMets never got themselves set as injuries and transitions played a key factor in a 4-6 season.

One K-M grad is now spending his time working with a company that he hopes will someday eradicate malnutrition in children around the world. 

In this third week as director of the Dodge Center Ambulance Service, Jared Oscarson was settling into his new position with enthusiasm.
“I can’t say enough about the volunteers, full-time and part-time staff of this service,” he said. “I’m impressed with the professionalism, integrity and dedication to the community.”

Rep. Tim Walz visited Al-Corn Clean Fuel in Claremont on Aug 24 to learn more about the plant’s upcoming expansion exercise and reiterate his support for clean Minnesota-produced renewable biofuels.
Walz was briefed on Al-Corn’s $146 million expansion exercise which will provide a significant boost for the economy in Claremont and its surrounding towns.

Noise levels from the McNeilus recycling yard did not exceed state noise standards when they were monitored in July, Dodge Center Council members were told last week.
Residents living near the recycling yard have complained to the city in recent months that noise levels were excessive and in violation of state noise levels.
The city contracted with an independent firm to do a check of levels.

When Luke Lutterman returned to Triton Middle School this summer as principal he felt as if he was coming home. And he was.
Lutterman is a 2000 graduate of Triton High School.
“It feels like home,” Lutterman said. “I always thought about coming back to Triton.”
He went to elementary school in Dodge Center and Middle School in West Concord.
