The 25th Dodge County Business Expo will take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 29.
Located at Triton High School, organizers expect 100 businesses and organizations to serve as vendors and as many as 3,000 people to attend. The event is free and open to the public.
It’s geared for all ages, including families, with musical acts the Rockin’ Hep Cats and Chris Rollo, as well as Just For Kix and Rookie the Clown.

As this newspaper reported in our front-page story this week, the City of Kasson is discussing the possibility of adding body worn cameras for its police department.
This newspaper fully commends those in the city administration, including the police chief, for supporting the measure.

This week brought a big shift at the Capitol with the results of Tuesday’s special election bringing the House back to a 67-67 tie. Starting next week, every committee will have an equal number of Republicans and Democrats, and the chairmanship will rotate between the parties each week.

Title IX changed everything for girls across the country. Before it passed in 1972, young women had far fewer opportunities to compete in sports. Growing up, I was one of those girls who benefitted. Title IX brought girls sports to my high school when I was a sophomore. It gave me the chance to learn the discipline, teamwork, and resilience that sports provide — skills I’ve carried with me ever since.

Thanks to you and the DCI for the extensive coverage of our State Championship. It was especially gratifying to me to see the hard work of this group of girls, building on that of their predecessors, reached in a championship.
It was also a reward for parents of the players who have enthusiastically supported us from Day 1 about 30 years ago.

It’s almost time for the annual Byron Community Foundation’s Wine, Spirits and Craft Beer Festival.
