Byron's School Board selected five semi-finalists to interview for the the school district's superintendent position Monday night.
The semi-finalists are:

The Kasson-Mantorville School Board Monday night unanimously selected six semi-finalists to interview for the school district’s superintendent position. One of those semi-finalists, Dr. Tamara Champa, superintendent of the Hastings Public Schools, has been named a finalist for the superintendent position in Owatonna and is expected to be interviewed Tuesday.
The other semi-finalists are:

For 50 years Ellington Township resident David Wetzstein attended every meeting of the township as a supervisor. This past March 11, Township Day throughout Minnesota, he retired and attended his final meeting.
He recently moved from his life-long home in the township to an assisted living apartment in Hayfield.

For a fifth time, Andrew Lechuga Salinas, a man convicted of killing Claremont Police Chief Greg Lange, will have a parole hearing on April 11.
Salinas is serving a life sentence for brutally murdering Lange in July 1988. Lange responded to a late-night domestic disturbance near his home in Claremont. He never made it back home.

Body worn cameras for police officers isn’t a new concept, and now the Kasson Police Department may be the next police department to get them.
“It’s been my goal for about four years to get them,” Kasson Police Chief Josh Hanson said in a phone interview Monday.
Last week, Hanson presented an initial draft of a proposed policy for body cameras.

Kasson’s City Council discussed proposed special assessment reductions for the southwest reconstruction project on March 12 and ultimately rejected the reduction but did approve looking into changing city policy to reduce interest rates.
Previous discussions had led to a proposed 30% assessment on the property owners affected by the improvements. This amounts to $9,030 per residential unit (RU).
