A Kasson woman faces 12 felony charges after allegedly stealing nearly $1 million from the hotel where she worked.
Beth Marie Hansen, 39, faces four counts each of theft; theft by swindle; and theft by diverting corporate property.
She was charged by summons Feb. 28 and will make her first appearance July 3 in Olmsted County District Court.

A longtime Rochester teacher launched his campaign for the Senate District 24 seat, last week, during a campaign event at Rochester John Marshall High School.
“Simon Glaser, longtime educator, community advocate, and labor leader, is officially launching his campaign, seeking the DFL endorsement for the Senate District 24 seat to be filled in the 2026 election,” a press release read.

Congratulations are in order this week to the members of the Triton Business Professionals of America (BPA) Chapter and to Kasey Krekling, teacher and coach at Hayfield Community Schools.
Triton’s BPA Chapter historically has done very well at the State and National events but this year they have excelled even more.

We are now wrapping up the third week of the legislative session, and instead of working to address the real issues facing Minnesotans, the minority party has chosen to shut down the legislature. While they are out doing photo ops, House Republicans are at the Capitol, meeting with constituents, refining legislation, and preparing to get to work as soon as the legislature is operational again.

The 40th annual Rochester Woodcarvers Carvers Show will be Saturday, March 22, and Sunday, March 23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at Aune Hall (4-H Building) on the Olmsted County Fairgrounds in Rochester.
Admission free. The room will be filled with carvings of all types. Mike Arndt and Wayne Hendrickson from Kasson will be participating.
