Shelter returned after state inquiry

The park shelter that has been the center of controversy in Kasson for the past month was returned to the city only after the Minnesota State Auditor’s Office inquired about it.

Senator Jensen reviews Legislative Session

With the 2016 legislative session over transportation remains the biggest outstanding issue facing the state, State Sen. Vicki Jensen told Dodge County Commissioners last week. Jensen addressed the board as part of her efforts to communicate with local government bodies in her district.
“I know the way it looked and felt,” Jensen said of the session. “Transportation is still the biggest outstanding issue we have.”

Triton School Board officially sets levy vote for fall

The Triton School Board officially went on record Monday night asking voters to approve an increase in general education revenue of $750 per pupil in a special election held in conjunction with the Nov. 8 general election.
The average amount levied by local districts in Minnesota is $1,000 and Triton currently levies $300 per pupil.

Vivian Marie Thorn, 96, Dodge Center

Vivian Marie (Dresen) Thorn, born July 3, 1920 to Charles Dresen and Mary (Beacom), passed away on July 15 at Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center where she had resided since 2008. Thanks to Fairview Care Center for the care given to our mother.
