Triton School Board officially sets levy vote for fall
The Triton School Board officially went on record Monday night asking voters to approve an increase in general education revenue of $750 per pupil in a special election held in conjunction with the Nov. 8 general election.
The average amount levied by local districts in Minnesota is $1,000 and Triton currently levies $300 per pupil.
The district has not gone to the voters asking for an operating levy since 2007, Supt. Brett Joyce told board members.
Over the past several months, board members have discussed the levy and administrators have prepared figures using varying levy amounts. Joyce told board members Monday that he would feel uncomfortable going to the voters with a request for either
