Joyce Mildred Gaal, 92, passed away peacefully at Fieldcrest Nursing home on Monday, July 26, in Hayfield. Joyce was born on March 24, 1929, at her home in Le Sueur, to Max and Mildred Fritze. She graduated from Le Sueur High School. After graduation she worked at the Green Giant Company in Le Sueur.

Roger Elmer Schley, age 81, of Dodge Center, passed away Friday, July 23, 2021, at Mayo Clinic Saint Marys Campus in Rochester. Roger was born November 12, 1939, in Owatonna, to Elmer and Ramah (Grunklee) Schley. He was born and raised on the family farm.

A Celebration of Life for Joan Joyce Opseth, 85, Austin, will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at First Presbyterian Church in Hayfield. Visitation will be 10 — 11 a.m. with the funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Hayfield Cemetery with lunch following at the church. Joan Joyce Opseth, passed away on December 16, 2020, at St. Mark’s Memory Care in Austin.

Mona A. McMartin, 73, Claremont, died Sunday, July 18, 2021, peacefully at her home in Claremont surrounded by her family.

Rebecca LaRae (Bestor) Rix, age 58, of Kasson, died at her home July 13, 2021, following her battle with cancer. Becky was born September 25, 1962 in Cresco, Iowa, the daughter of Dallas and Connie (Ferrie) Bestor. She was united in marriage to Frank Rix on August 23, 1986 in Decorah, at Dunning Springs. She enjoyed spending time with her kids, grandkids, friends, and family.

Ronald (Ronnie) Wayne Papenfus died of natural causes at his home at the age of 66 on July 4, 2021. Ronnie was born to Charles and Marjorie (Aulwes) Papenfus on March 12, 1955, in Albert Lea. Ronnie lived his childhood in Albert Lea, Austin and Dodge Center, Minnesota and as an adult in Austin, Texas, and Minneapolis.
