John “Jack” Thomas Brossard, 75, Chester, Iowa

John Brossard, 75, of Chester, Iowa, died Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at Allison Rehab Center in Allison, Iowa, after a battle with cancer.
John was born July 31, 1946 to James and Evelyn (Munsch) Brossard at his grandparents’ home near Pine Island. He grew up on the family dairy farm near Mantorville.

Leslie David DeRaad, Jr., 59, Kasson

Greatly beloved Leslie David DeRaad, Jr., age 59, took his last breath on Oct. 4, 2021. After a year’s battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis, he said goodbye to his family and friends in the comfort of his own home. He was surrounded by people who loved him and remembered him fondly.

Vickie Doreen Lee, 66, Hayfield

Vickie Doreen Lee, beloved sister passed, away September 19, 2021, at the age of 66. Vickie was born May 20, 1955, in Hayfield, to Verlyn and Darlene (Krueger) Lee. Vickie was a graduate of the “Class of ‘75” at Dodge Center High School. She enjoyed her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Sharon Lea Sackett, 73, Kasson

Sharon Lea Sackett, age 73, of Kasson, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, surrounded by her family.
Sharon was born on July 3, 1948 to Lorenzo and Christobel (Caylor) Quimby in Melrose. She graduated from Kasson Mantorville High School. She sold insurance and worked at Energy Economics.
Sharon married Dick Sackett on April 10, 1965. They enjoyed fishing, puppet ministry, snowmobiling, and playing cards.

Averyl Jean ‘Dusty’ Heiserman, 92, Kasson

Averyl Jean “Dusty” Heiserman, 92, of Kasson, passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021 at Season’s Hospice House in Rochester.
She was born on September 15, 1929 to Roy Bryenton Leslie and Drusilla Grace (Lyman) Leslie in rural Stillwater. Averyl attended Lake Elmo Elementary School, Stillwater High School and graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Agriculture, St. Paul in 1947.

Blaine Miller Halvorson, 27, Ridgeland, S.C.

Blaine Miller Halvorson, 27, was born April 18, 1994 in Rochester. He passed away on September 12, 2021 following a tragic semi-truck vs. pedestrian accident on September 8, 2021.
During the accident, he saved the love of his life, Ashley Miller Halvorson and with his passing saved others through organ donation.
Blaine was a 2012 graduate of Kasson Mantorville High School and was a dedicated employee at the Crossroads Hy-Vee.
