Notice is hereby given that on January 3, 3017, 6:00 PM at Claremont City Hall the Claremont City Council will hold a public hearing concerning submittal of an application to the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development for a grant under the Minnesota Investment Fund (MIF) program. 

Filing of affidavit of candidacy may be filed with the Township clerk Frank Wyatt, at his home located in Canisteo Township, Dodge County Minnesota.
The first day for filing is January 3, 2017 and the closing day filing will be January 17, 2017 at 5:00 o’clock p.m.
Filing will be for the office of one supervisor for a term of three years.

Over this past year, we have been digging into the on-going battle against impaired driving with stories, columns and editorials about the devastating effects having one too many can have on our society.
We had hoped to get through the year without an alcohol-related driving death in Dodge and Steele counties. But it appears our luck has run out. 

Thelma E. Fisher, 97, passed away Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016 at the Zumbrota Care Center in Zumbrota Minn., where she had been a resident for two years.  
Thelma was born May 2, 1919 in Ohio. Her family moved to California when she was 14 years old. She met and married Lyle Fisher in Irvington, California on Oct. 20, 1939. After their three children were born, the family moved to the San Fernando Valley.
