Dorothy A. Johnston, 95, passed away on Feb. 13, 2017, at her residence at Prairie Meadows Sr. Living in Kasson.  
Dorothy was born on Dec. 14, 1921.  She was the eldest of nine children, born to Jacob and Agnes (Krippner) Simons in Stewart, Minnesota.

Lyle Orville Gronvold passed away on Feb. 17, 2017 at the age of 80. Despite the many adversities he faced, Lyle remained courageous and strong until the very end. His final days were spent surrounded by family at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus.

Marsha Durst, 65, of Mantorville, died peacefully at her home in hospice care on Feb. 13, 2017. Through her life, she gave the world as much color and beauty as the flower gardens that she adored.
Marsha Jean Anderst was born Feb. 16, 1951 in Fairmont to Roland and Dorothy Anderst who farmed on the outskirts of town. She had many fond memories of growing up with her two sisters, Leann and Cheryl. 
 

The last time the Owatonna boys basketball team faced Faribault, the Huskies came away a 63-60 winner. That was in Faribault back on Jan.13. 
While Tuesday’s night contest would end in regulation, the finish was one for the ages.

Rochester – Since 2013, both the Big Nine Conference and the Section 1-AAA title has eluded the Owatonna high school wrestling program. On Feb.9, the Huskies won the conference, leaving just a section title waiting.
After a 62-12 thumping of Rochester John Marshall on Feb.16, the Huskies were a mere two wins away from solidifying a place at the table for the Class AAA state dual tournament.

While the Owatonna wrestling team’s win was lopsided in part to five forfeits from Rochester John Marshall, the way the top-seeded Huskies performed, the forfeits may not have even mattered.

The on-going feedlot fight in Dodge County is now in the hands of the Minnesota Court of Appeals.

With his vehicle stuck in the snow at a local cemetery, an elderly man left on foot to get help, but quickly became overcome with the snow and cold conditions himself. His body temperature was quickly falling and his prognosis didn’t look good as he lay in the snow.
