It could have been a scene from
summers-gone-by earlier this month as vintage and classic cars, hula hoops and pin-up girls were at the Dodge Center American Legion Post.
The evening was the latest in a series of summer car shows at the Legion Post.

young girl, Amy Kyllo of Byron always looked up in awe to the Princess Kay of the Milky Way, the highest honor given in the Minneso- ta dairy industry.
After last week, she doesn’t need to look up any longer as she took on the honor herself. Kyllo was crowned the 66th Princess Kay at the Minnesota State
Fair in Falcon Heights
Aug. 21.
“I was shocked. Extra, extra excited,” Kyllo said

A two-goal lead is considered one of the most dangerous leads in hockey, and while Kasson-Mantorville wasn’t playing hockey, the boys’ soccer team did come back from a two-goal deficit to finish Saturday’s road game against Plainview-Elgin-Millville with a 3-3 draw.  

The Women’s Shelter and Support Center (WSSC) Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Artyce Thomas will join the WSSC staff as executive director, effective Aug. 26.

Every year new vendors come to the Steele County Free Fair and this year was no exception.
Of the new vendors, four of them were from the Steele and Dodge County areas.
Carmen Dorr and Jeanette Sanford are co-owners of the Harvest Coop in Owatonna.
They were located inside the Izaak Walton Building and said this was their first time at the fair.

Labor Day Weekend is coming up, which means that the Mantorville Marigold Days are coming to town soon.
The 54 celebration will kick off on Thursday, Sept.5 with restoration and log house tours from 1-5 p.m. along with the Bell Tower Dedication at 5:30 p.m. and the Field of Flags Presentation at 6 p.m. 

Memorial services for Timothy C. Boever of Blooming Prairie will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Bonnerup Funeral Services in Albert Lea. Pastor Dwight DoBell will officiate. Military Honors will be accorded. Friends may visit with family one hour before services at the funeral home.

Private memorial services for family and close friends will be held Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019 for Rosalee Grace Ille of Albert Lea.
Rosalee passed away on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2019 at St John’s Woodlands in Albert Lea at 99 years young.
