The Kasson-Mantorville football team is now one win away from its first state title, after defeating Grand Rapid 14-12 Friday afternoon in the state tournament semifinal matchup. 
The KoMets’ first defensive stop came in the first quarter, as they held Grand Rapids on a fourth down in the red zone. 
After back and forth defensive stops, the KoMets caught a break when Grand Rapids was called for pass interference.

Byron overwhelms KM to win girls’ soccer section title

The Byron Bears girls soccer team won their second consecutive Section 1AA championship in dominating fashion, on a rainy Tuesday night in Winona. 
Byron came into the match with a 10-0-2 record, having beat the 7-3-2 Komets by a score of 5-0 on Sept. 30. 

Local schools lift lockdown after video concerns

 
Dodge County’s three school districts have now lifted the lockdowns they implemented after what was called “concerning behavior of a community member.”
The lockdowns started about 9:20 a.m. at Byron High School, where a video was recorded by Daniel James Lewison, 55.
He is listed as a person of interest by the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office; as of 12:30 p.m. Thursday, he was not in custody.
