After falling short in her bid to become the state representative from House District 24A last year, Heather Holmes will once again run for the seat. 
She announced her bid during a campaign kick-off event in Dodge County last week.
Last year, Holmes won the DFL endorsement and took on longtime incumbent Duane Quam, a Republican from Byron.

On the football field, the Kasson-Mantorville KoMets are known for their grit, determination, and teamwork. But recently, the players traded their cleats for work gloves, and the scoreboard for a wheelbarrow.
Nineteen KoMets showed up with shovels, rakes, and plenty of spirit to tackle a different kind of challenge: moving 12 yards of mulch to refresh the K-M Peace Garden.

A Field of Flags was blowing in the wind Saturday afternoon at the Dodge County Courthouse following the annual Marigold Days program.
Flags are “planted” on the lawn by either family members or volunteers in memory or honor of members of the military and first responders.
Speaker for this year’s program was Dodge County Deputy Sheriff Roger Berge, and his topic was mental health.

The district hopes that residents will use the website to find out all the information they need to make an informed decision on the levy referendum this November.
The website breaks the issue down into areas including The Need, The Plan, The Cost, The Process, Voting, FAQs and Resources.

Voters in the Byron, Kasson-Mantroville, and Triton school districts will be making their way to the polls on Nov. 4 for special elections.
But before then, they will have the chance to vote early beginning on Sept. 19.

At just 15 years old, Cooper Worden, a sophomore at Kasson-Mantorville High School, has stepped into the spotlight as a director at the Mantorville Theater Company.
This summer, Worden led the production of “Whole Latte Love,” a comedic play set in a struggling coffee shop, bringing charm, humor and community spirit to the historic Mantorville Opera House.
