Dodge County Public Health (DCPH) will be holding community clinics for the flu vaccine throughout October.
Clinics will have the following vaccines available:
Fluzone Trivalent — $55
Fluzone High-Dose Trivalent (65+) — $101
Flublok (50-65) Trivalent — $101
Flu vaccines will be administered to anyone ages six-months and up on the following days and locations:

Resurfacing of Highway 57 from Kasson to Mantorville is completed and the road is fully open to traffic, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Work began Sept. 8. Crews resurfaced Highway 57 from 16th Street in Kasson to the Zumbro River in Mantorville.

Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Southern Minnesota (BBBS) officially moved into their new office space in downtown Owatonna last week, with an open house and ribbon cutting attended by Owatonna Chamber of Commerce members and ambassadors.
They also received a check from the Owatonna Foundation for $55,000.

Isaac Threinen of Kasson took on a new challenge this fall: the Twin Cities Marathon.
He finished ninth in the race.
Though no stranger to long-distance running, this was his first time competing in the iconic race that winds through Minneapolis and St. Paul. For Threinen, the decision to run was fueled by a summer spent training in the Twin Cities with the Collegeville Track Club.

Dodge County resident Matt Coy knows all too well the impacts of not having enough access to mental health care.
His son, Wyatt, took his own life on Jan.19, 2017. He was 18 years old.
Coy tried to get help for Wyatt, who struggled for a long time.
But as Coy explained last week in Owatonna, when they tried to get him therapy, it was a “sorry state of affairs.”

CHS has closed the elevator in Claremont and directed members to take their soybeans and grains to the elevator in Kasson.
Nick Ulschmid, logistics manager at CHS, said co-op members were notified of the closing earlier this season. He said the closure was a corporate decision made partly because of the damage to the grain bins from a tornado in 2023. One bin was destroyed, and others were damaged in the storm.
