Ethel Evelyn DeBlieck, 96, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Dec. 10, 2015 at her home in Zumbrota.
Ethel Evelyn Edwards was born March 26, 1919 at home in Lyon County, Minnesota to John and Elizabeth (Evans) Edwards.  She grew up on the family farm and she attended country school.  She then attended Tracy High School.

Elaine E. Wondra of rural Blooming Prairie died Dec. 7, 2015, at Prairie Manor Care Center in Blooming Prairie. 
Mass of Christian Burial was held Dec. 12, 2015, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at Litomysl.

After a first half that was closely contested the full 18 minutes, the Blooming Prairie boys basketball team scored 40 second half points to defeat Alden-Conger 71-57 on Saturday, Dec 12.  
The non-conference victory climaxed a rare Saturday doubleheader, with the Blossom girls playing the first game. The team evened its season record at 4-4

The Dodge County Independent and Dodge County Printing are on the move from their current location on 1st Avenue NW to Main Street. Hawk & Son’s of Rochester began the initial phase Tuesday by moving the heavy press equipment. A fork lift machine was used to carry the 2,500 pound Heidelberg press from the print shop, up the street and into the new home at 121 Main St.

The late Dodge County Sheriff’s Capt. Loring Guenther was a big supporter of the Toys for Tots program and this year the Sheriff’s Office is collecting toys and money for the program as a way to honor his memory.
The office has been collecting from officers, county employees and friends of Guenther and last week they took the money collected so far and purchased toys, lots of toys.

The Kasson-Mantorville/Triton gymnastics team opened up its season on Dec. 1 by falling to Caledonia/Spring Grove 116.5-111.85. 
Despite the loss, K-M/T head coach Laura Strandell was encouraged by the team’s initial effort.
“It was a good start for the team,” Strandell said. “I was proud of the little things that we did as a group.”

The Kasson-Mantorville/Triton powerlifting team opened their season on Saturday at Adams-Friendship High School in Wisconsin. The meet was a Wisconsin state meet and featured 120 lifters competing from nine different schools.
