Moving to Main Street in full swing

The Dodge County Independent and Dodge County Printing are on the move from their current location on 1st Avenue NW to Main Street. Hawk & Son’s of Rochester began the initial phase Tuesday by moving the heavy press equipment. A fork lift machine was used to carry the 2,500 pound Heidelberg press from the print shop, up the street and into the new home at 121 Main St. where a hole was created in front of the building to get everything inside. Prior to this week’s move, the press equipment had not been moved for more than 45 years. The newspaper and print shop are expected to be fully operational in their new home by Dec. 21.
