Something that I find so interesting about people is how they change. 
People adapt and change with the flow of society or the trends of today. People change their looks, their hair, their clothes, the way they speak, the way they talk, and the way they think. 

Summer yard work morphs into fall yard work, which morphs into winter shoveling, which morphs into more shoveling and more shoveling and still more shoveling.
And then, just as the season seems to be slouching toward spring ... you shovel some more.
Spring pops in for a cameo and stays about 20 minutes.

Many churches have been featuring ‘Rally Sundays,’ kicking off the new educational year over the past few weeks. It’s like a fresh start as fall rolls around.
Among other things, Sunday School, confirmation classes and Bible studies are topping the events at many area churches, along with, of course, regular weekend services.

While the scenery of football in the fall is something that some people can put into poetic justice, even the best teams can nd themselves in a game where things just aren’t going the way they want them to. The Kasson-Mantorville football team learned that lesson last week when they traveled to Byron to take on the Bears in a rivalry game.

The early season narrative for the Kasson-Mantorville/ Triton cross country team has been the glowing rate of success for the boys and the dominance of Courtney West.
That proved to be the case once again at the Byron invitational as the boys team posted a perfect team score of 15 to win the event while West finished nearly a minute and a half to win the girls race.

Language Arts instructor Bernie Buehler and associates went in search of a good fall play to perform at Kasson-Mantorville High School.
They wanted something family-oriented, which would involve lots of students and showcase the spanking- new Minnesota WiFi Performing Arts Center.
They found their play: The Little Mermaid, based on the Broadway hit, the 1989 Disney movie, and the 1837 book by Hans Christian Andersen.

If Jeannine Hensley was ever misplaced, she has certainly found her spot.
The Kasson resident and Arkansas native is establishing Misplaced Magnolia Southern Bistro and BBQ, in the former Leuthold’s Clothing and Shoes building at 107 W. Main St., Kasson.
It’s hoped that the restaurant billed as “The Mid-South meets the Midwest” will open in early October.

If this was the last Harvest Fest, the 20th-annual Dodge Center celebration went out big.
Visitors enjoyed music, tractor and car shows, face-painting, Bingo, a book sale, a quilt show, a thundering “garden tractor pull,” all sorts of food, and many other activities this past weekend, in and around downtown.

The stereotype in the game of football is that most of the players on the eld are made of a certain kind of warrior mentality. In films, that depiction is usually seen with a character running around the locker room screaming to inspire his teammates or slamming his head against a locker to psyche themselves up for a Friday night.
