We’ve had a lot of people sending messages asking why the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office wasn’t on the Dateline show. 
First of all, our staff did an INCREDIBLE job with this case and it’s investigation. I would put them up against any big city or county investigations team, and I couldn’t be more proud of the work they did. They are incredibly talented people who worked day and night for weeks on this case.

Have you ever tried downsizing. Older folks generally have trouble parting with things that have been a part of their home and life for decades. Pictures of the kids returning home from their first day of kindergarten get a “we can’t part with that.”

Dwayne “Dewey” Dean Carmack, 53, of Dodge Center, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021 at his home. 

Carma Alice Ebenhoh, 94, of Claremont, died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021 at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester.
She was born November 2, 1926 in Minneapolis the daughter of Einar and Carma (Stanton) Ross. Carma graduated from St. Peter High School at the age of 16. 

A wrestling fan might wonder when was the last time the KM wrestling team lost a conference dual.  Year after year, the four time state champions (2013, 2016, 2017, 2018), continue to dominate the HVL.  The KoMets have already demonstrated two big, come from behind, wins this season.  

After a two week absence from the gym, the girls were able to get a week of practice in before heading to Caledonia on Feb. 11 for a triangular that included LaCrescent as well. The girls finished with a 129.5 points, which were enough to come out on top. LaCrescent finished with 123.825 points and Caledonia finished with 107.175 points.

Barry Erichsen lived in Rochester, with a brother and sister, until the third grade. The family moved to Kasson in 1971 when his dad, Erv, became the Kasson police chief. A 1980 KM graduate, Barry said he tried basketball in Junior high but was not really involved with school activities. 

West Concord’s old school, which now houses the city’s historical society, has officially been listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The West Concord Historical Society received the official notification from the National Park Service at the end of January, said the society’s Joyce DuBois.
The society started the lengthy process of seeking inclusion on the Historic Register in 2018.

A credit union is opening at Plaza 57, the former Shopko building on Mantorville Avenue, with a projected opening date of early June.
Accentra Credit Union has locations in Austin and Albert Lea, making Kasson its third location in southeastern Minnesota.
The 2,400-square-foot credit union will help the mini mall toward full completion, putting it at 65 percent full, said Plaza 57 co-owner Brad Clemens.
