Marcyne E. Leth (2/27/1938 - 1/21/2025), beloved daughter, sister, aunt, friend, animal lover and Child of God passed away peacefully in her home on January 21, 2025.
There will be a number of new faces running area school districts next school year, after numerous superintendents have announced their intentions of not coming back to their respective school districts.
Some are retiring from districts like Owatonna Superintendent Jeff Elstad and Triton Superintendent Craig Schlichting.
Others, however, are leaving under less positive circumstances.
John Fox has done a lot over his close to three decades career saving lives.
Now, at the end of his career, the newly appointed interim Dodge Center Ambulance Director has just one goal; keep the ambulance going now and into the future.
“I’m not looking to go anywhere, I would love to finish out my career here. I think this is a fine community. I think this is a perfect example of how it can be done,” Fox said.
While Sonja Trom Eayrs knows she has hit a nerve with her newly released book, it’s not with the people one may suspect.
Through her book, Dodge County Inc., which exposes the antics of corporate farming targeted at those she believes are involved in the demise of rural America, Trom Eayrs has opened the eyes of many other people not directly connected.
The Kasson-Mantorville High School Knowledge Bowl team is doing well so far this season, according to Knowledge Bowl Coach Brook Santjer.
Santjer noted the team has finished in the top 10 at its round robin competitions with 30 or more teams present.
“We are hoping to remain competitive and send a team to state like we did last year,” Santjer said, noting the final round robin competition is set for Jan. 31.
No matter what kind of home you live in, almost everyone has a junk drawer. It is a place to put something you don’t know quite what to do with but is too good to throw out.
