K-M Knowledge Bowl prepares for sub-regional competition

The Kasson-Mantorville High School Knowledge Bowl team is doing well so far this season, according to Knowledge Bowl Coach Brook Santjer.
Santjer noted the team has finished in the top 10 at its round robin competitions with 30 or more teams present.
“We are hoping to remain competitive and send a team to state like we did last year,” Santjer said, noting the final round robin competition is set for Jan. 31.
From there, the team will be preparing for the sub-regional competition happening later in February.
“To me Knowledge Bowl is a place to meet new people from different grade levels that you might not talk to on a regular basis. It is competitive and fun. There is truly something in Knowledge Bowl for everyone,” BrookLynn Mattick, a captain of the team, said.
For Maxon Hall, another captain, “it’s a great opportunity to go and show what we know and sometimes learn some new things.”
“ It’s super fun to be able to get out of school and go compete with our friends,” Hall said.
