The Minnesota Sheriff’s Association received 54 applications for its annual state scholarship program, according to Dodge County Sheriff Scott Rose.
Out of those, 20 applicants were awarded a $2,000 scholarship.
One of those chosen was Kasson-Mantorville graduate Owen Nelson.

Colleen Tentis, a Kasson-Mantorvlle kindergarten teacher, is in the running for Minnesota Teacher of the Year.
The list of finalists for the honor was announced recently by Education Minnesota.
Tentis is currently in her 19th year with the Kasson-Mantorville Schools.
