Byron gymnasts win 3rd straight conference title

The Byron girls gymnastics team finished with an undefeated conference record and wrapped it up this past Friday, by winning their third straight conference title. Byron finished with a team score of 138.45. PIZM finished second with a score of 133.275 and KMT finished third with a score of 132.7. Caledonia, Stewartville and La Crescent finished out the places.

This past Thursday night, Kasson-Mantorville wrestling celebrated their four seniors, Joey Kennedy, Luke Swanson, Dominic Mann, and Tyler Paulson.

Byron’s girls gymnastics team stayed undefeated in the conference, with their win over Kasson-Mantorville/Triton, on Friday, February 2, with a score of 136.475 to KMT’s score of 124.95.
It was a meet with some ups and downs, but several of the Byron girls tried a few new things before going into the big meets at the end of the season.

Razorbacks hold triangular, Byron takes on Z-M, Cobras at Fasnacht Tourney

It was a busy week for area wrestlers as the Westfield Razorbacks hosted a triangular, Byron took on Zumbrota-Mazeppa, and the Triton Cobras participated in the Mike Fasnacht Memorial Tourney at Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton High School.

On Tuesday, January 30, the Westfield wrestlers hosted a triangular meet. Participants included Westfield, Kasson-Mantorville and Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial.

Lady Wildcats finish regular season on winning note

Playing in their final three regular season games, the Dodge County girls hockey team currently holds a sparkling 19-4-0 record. The Lady Wildcats are ranked No. 3 in the state in Class 1A.

Chalking-up another victory on Tuesday, January 23, the Byron girls basketball team bested the Lake City girls, 63-45, and moved their overall record to 14-3.

Westfield competes in dual for top-seed sections

“Tonight was a big dual for us, as it helped secure a top seed for sections, and the ability to host a first round match-up. It was nice to see a number of our guys step up tonight, and secure bonus points in each of the wins.” explained Coach David Lassahn.
