What started out to be a family Easter project for a retired Hayfield couple has turned into being something of a hit on social media as it soothes of soul in times of despair.
 

Today, JBS USA announced the indefinite closure of the Worthington, Minn., pork production facility. The facility employs more than 2,000 Nobles County team members and processes 20,000 hogs per day.
This is the second major pork processing facility in the Midwest to close in the past week. Last week, Smithfield in Sioux Falls also shut down due to the coronavirus.

A Dodge County cop killer will be moved to a lower-risk prison after action taken Tuesday by a Parole Review Board consisting of the state’s corrections commissioner and others.
 
Andrew Salinas will be moved to an unknown medium-security prison, according to the Department of Corrections. He will not be moved to minimum security as some social media has been circulating. 
 

John S. Peterson, 94, of Owatonna passed away peacefully at Prairie Manor in Blooming Prairie on April 7, 2020. 
The memorial service will be held at a later date at Sacred Heart Church with full military honors at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Dodge County Sheriff Scott Rose is warning businesses that there are penalties for violating the governor’s stay-at-home order.
Rose said some people have already been cited around Minnesota for not abiding by the order. Violating the order carries a $1,000 fine. 

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Judith A. Hassig, 78, of Davenport, were held on Friday, April 10. Burial was at Davenport Memorial Park.
Judith Ann Churchward was born to Harriet and Cecil Churchward in Rochester on April 15, 1941. She passed away on April 7, 2020 after a long battle with cancer.
Her father had been a farmer later becoming a house painter. Her mother was a one-room country school teacher.
