Todd Nelson lived in Austin his first 11 years before his family moved three miles north to a rural acreage. That move put his family in the Hayfield School district which was 18 miles away.
He was the middle child in a family of seven boys and two girls. He was active in sports playing football and basketball for Hayfield.

As cases of COVID-19 increase throughout southern Minnesota, area school districts are faced with decisions as to their learning models.

Dalon George Witt, 89, of Dodge Center passed away on Nov. 5, 2020 at St. Marys hospital in Rochester.
Dalon was born Dec. 1, 1930 to George and Inez (Arendts) Witt in Dodge County. He married Harriet Dingler on Sept. 24, 1950.

Earlier this week I received a call from a young woman upset that an editorial in this newspaper titled: “It’s over and the winner is…?” She was upset, claiming it was pro-Trump.
In conversing with this reader, I suggested that she consider writing a letter or guest column refuting what she had found to be off base. Her response stunned me…she stated that she was afraid of reprisals, but from whom? MAGA supporters.

It was a Monday night game between two local rivals, the Kasson-Mantorville KoMets versus the Byron Bears.
The game started with Byron earning their first point but KoMets got theirs seconds after. The match was a very heated one with very repetitive sets. 

This year, we celebrate every game.  Every chance the players get to step on the field is a special moment. On Nov. 11, we celebrated our seniors.  The Class of 2021 is made up of 12 players and two cheerleaders. 
“A great group of players that we have been fortunate to work with over the years,” said Head Coach Joel Swanson.

In an alarming trend that is happening all across the state, Dodge County has set yet another new record of COVID cases for one week, tripling the previous week’s record.
