LaVon Tully, 88, of Mantorville, died June 25, 2021 at Susie’s Place in Hayfield under the loving care of Susie, where she was living for the past seven years.LaVon May Kramer was born December 31, 1932 to Weldon and Carrie (Dutton) Kramer. She grew up in Mantorville, and graduated class of 1950. On December 31, 1955 she married John (Jack) Tully.

Walter Van Allen, 89, Rochester

Walter Van Allen, 89 of Rochester, passed away on June 22, 2021 at Seasons Hospice Home, surrounded by his family.
Walter was born on October 8, 1931 in Donna, Texas to Verne and Sarah (Allphin) Van Allen.

Steven Rueben Kirsch, 64, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, of complications following transplant surgery. During his life, Steve found his greatest joy spending time with family and friends, who enjoyed his quick wit and kind spirit. He faced life’s many challenges with courage, faith, and strength.

Kasson Post 333 traveled to Byron last night and came away on the wrong end of an 8-7 defeat. Byron took an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning before Kasson responded with three of their own in the top of the second highlighted by an RBI double by Nick Larson, RBI single from Jake Hallstrom, and an RBI single by Noah Swarts.

Byron Girls Track celebrates great season

Byron’s Girls Track Team wrapped up another outstanding season and held their awards banquet to celebrate their team and individual accomplishments.
As a team the girls won their ninth HVL Conference Championship and also won the True Team Section Championship for the third year in a row. The girls finished eighth in the True Team State Meet. They also won every regular season meet they participated in as a full team.
