Area wrestlers headed to state tourney

Multiple girl wrestlers from the area are headed to the state tournament as individuals, including multiple wrestlers who won section championships last weekend.
Triton’s Adriana Kunz won every match in the section tournament, to win the 100 pound weight class.
Byron had five girls who placed at the Section tournament.

Byron’s Brian scores 1,000 career points

The Byron boys basketball team defeated Rochester Lourdes 89-58 in its most recent matchup.
Byron was led by Will Brian who scored 26 points, including his 1,000 career point.
Colin Hansen 18, Max Dearborn had 11 points, Fisher Kruckeberg and Isaac Scharpman each had eight points.
 

Triton defeats Hayfield

The Triton boys basketball team defeated Hayfield 93-50 last week.
Triton was led by William Thiemann who had 17 points, four rebounds, and three assists in the win.
Pierce Petersohn had 15 points, Christian Valdez had 14 points, Graden Thomas had 11 points, and Mitchell Peterson had 10 points in the win.
For Hayfield Rylan Nelsen had 18 points, Charlie Walker had 15 points, and Christian Mealy had eight points.
 

Wildcats defeat Rochester Lourdes

The Dodge County boys hockey team defeated Rochester Lourdes 5-2 last week at home.
Five different Wildcats had goals in the win including Braylon Fredrickson, Gabe Coshenet, Camryn Koch, Dylan Allen, and Brett Ludvigsen.
Coshenet and Koch had two assists in the game, Mitchell Holmen had an assist along with Dylan Klomps, Griffin Gibbs, and Ludvigsen.

Triton Hall of Fame Class of 2025 recognized

During the halftime of the Triton boys basketball game, the 2025 Hall of Fame class was recognized. The five individuals being inducted includes Romell Matejcek (Berg), Zach Erdmann, Caleb Rissman, Damon Andrews, and Gary Miler. The 2010 Triton football team was also recognized.
 
 

K-M falls to Z-M

The Kasson-Mantorville boys basketball team fell to Zumbrota-Mazeppa 78-58 last week.
For K-M Caisen Thom had 21 points, two rebounds, and an assist, Aiden Kujath had 10 points, and two rebounds, Ethan Lee had nine points, two rebounds, and four assists, while Nolan Lee finished the game with nine points.
 

K-M defeats Z-M

The Kasson-Mantorville girls basketball team defeated ZM 77 to 39 last week.
For K-M Keigan Cummings had 21 points, five assists, and four steals, Mackenzie Carrier had 20 points, two assists, and two steals, Ella Stoskopf had 15 points and 10 rebounds, Lauren Schaefer had 28 points, and Delaney Awe had seven points, three assists, and two steals.
 

Triton defeats Hayfield

The Triton girls basketball team defeated Hayfield 91-68 last week.
Triton was led by  Reagan Essig who had 20 points, Addi Oakland had 16 points, Keanna Molina had 15 points, Rainey Dobbs had 13 points, and  Norah Freiderich had 11 points.
For Triton  Lily Morrisey had 20 points,  Frieda Rutz had 14 points, and Maggie Hansen had 10 points.
 

Signing Day

Dodge County Wildcats hockey player Mollie Koch signed her letter of intent to play hockey at Saint Mary’s University last week.

Triton wrestling beats Austin

The Triton wrestling team fell to WEM-JWP in a dual meet last week 39-30.
For Triton, Kaiden Adreon won in the 107 pound weight class, Jaxon Jensen won the 127 pounds weight class, Alexander De La Merced Ortiz won the 133 pound weight class, Hunter Garness won the 152 pound weight class, Cole Kodada won in the 160 pound weight class, and Craig Knutson won in the 285 pound weight class.
