Byron falls to Cannon Falls

The Byron wrestling team fell to Cannon Falls 38-32 in a dual meet last week.
Byron’s Gavin Connelly won in the 127 pound weight class, Gavin Zabel won in the 139 pound weight class, Brayden Lorentzen won in the 160 pound weight class, Garrett Nemechek won in the 172 pound weight class, Thadeus Zabel won the 215 pound weight class, and Mason Edwards won the 285 pound weight class.

K-M School Board member resigns again

Kasson-Mantorville School Board member Amy Olson, has resigned for a second time, Board Chair Mark Torkelson confirmed in an email Tuesday morning.
“Out of respect for Ms. Olson we thought it would be appropriate to give her an opportunity to provide a statement first,” Torkelson wrote. “Given that it appears she has not done that yet I can confirm that she has resigned her position as a KM School Board member.

Barbara Jane Mogen, 78, of Faribault, MN passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at her home.
She was born January 13, 1947 in Rochester to George and Alice (Houseman) Bonser. Barb grew up in Dodge Center and graduated from Dodge Center High School in 1965. After school she married Ronald M. Mogen in 1967. Barb spent most of the next 20 years as a stay home mom raising 4 children on a small farm in West Concord.

GoFundMe account set up for K-M teacher injured in car crash

A GoFundMe account has been started for Hannah Mickelsen, 24, a Kasson-Mantorville teacher who was seriously injured in a crash involving a car and a snowplow on Thursday morning.
The crash occurred shortly after 7 a.m. on Thursday on County Road 24, east of West Concord, just west of the County Road 7 intersection, according to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.
