And now the rest of the story.
As our staff prepared the annual spring farm tab, which is one of our largest publications of the year and comes out this week to rural residents, I came across something that intrigued me from the late radio broadcaster Paul Harvey, who famously coined the phrase, “and now the rest of the story,” during his broadcasts. 

In what is believed to be the first of its kind case in Dodge County, a Rochester man has been charged with murder in connection with the drug overdose death of another man late last year.
 

The sport of wrestling can be categorized as an individual sport. In the end, each match is a one-on-one encounter that can be won or lost by a person’s individual achievements. For the Kasson-Mantorville wrestling team, that individual aspect caused the KoMets to be put in the discussion as one of the most dominant teams in the history of the state.

 The Kasson-Mantorville bench celebrated after Dalton Andrist (front) picked up the dual-clinching pin against Simley in the Class AA Team Championship on March 2. The victory sealed the second straight state championship for the KoMets and the school’s third title in the past five years.

Throughout the year, the Kasson-Mantorville girls basketball team has had plenty of experience in close games. With nine of their 27 regular season games coming down to six points or less and a 7-2 record in those games, the experience of being locked in a tight matchup should be looked at as an advantage heading into the playoffs.
 

Grabbing a rope to leap into the Zumbro RIver off a high limestone cliff known as "Grim" has been a favorite summer pastime of kids and adults for years in Mantorville.
 
But the cliff is eroding and rocks are tumbling into the river, creating danger just below the surface.
 

KMTelecom has received a 2016 matching state grant of just more than $764,000 to serve 195 unserved households, nine unserved businesses, the Mantorville Township building, and a small section of west-central Olmsted County.  
 
It is part of the Border-to-Border Broadband Development Grant Program, which funds the expansion of high-speed broadband Internet service to unserved or underserved areas in Minnesota.
 

David Albert Andreen, 79, of Kasson, passed away peacefully at the Mayo Clinic Hospital-Rochester, Methodist Campus on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. 

Orlando A. “Orlie” Hanenberger ,78, of Byron passed away on March 2, 2017 at Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center.
Orlando was born on April 6, 1938 in Eyota, to Theodore Sr. and Eunice (Oliver) Hanenberger. He attended school in Eyota. He married Florence Anderson on Nov. 9, 1963 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kasson.
