Since then many students have benefited through this by promoting their small businesses in the community.
One of those people is Kasson native Caleb Kern.

A little scrap goes a long way in helping families in need of food

In October, the K-M Lions Club held its annual scrap metal drive.
The annual event is a way to fundraise money for a local Dodge County cause as a way to help out the community.
This year the Lions raised $1,600 for the Dodge County Food Shelf and recently that check was presented by the local Lions Club to Audrey Irwin, director of the Food Shelf.

In Minnesota, 1 out of 10 people are hungry, according to Virginia Merritt, executive director of Channel One Regional Food Bank.
That's why food banks like Channel One are so important.
In the middle of November, the regional food bank began its 2018 Holiday Campaign, with a objective of raising $180,000 this holiday season, a press release stated.
