Every year, at about this time, when the temperatures drop to the negative numbers, I wonder, why do we live here? It is a free country, and you can live wherever you please, so why do people live in an area where you can drive on the lakes in the winter because it gets so cold they freeze solid.

A recent data request made by this newspaper is once again shedding light on what has been happening behind the scenes at the Kasson-Mantorville Schools.
About a month ago, this newspaper made a data request for school board members’ emails, along with emails for various teachers in the school district, for a period of time.
As part of the data request, we narrowed the scope to very particular key words, including DCI.

If you want top access to our government, you must follow the rules — meaning you can’t unilaterally slash crucial government programs or hide your efforts from public scrutiny.
