Everyday Hero

KM Lion Todd Halverson was presented the “Everyday Hero Award” at the 5M1 Lions MidWinter Convention held in Rochester in January. Todd was selected by the KM Lion club members as the member who has helped in a variety of ways with many project activities and represented the KM club at the convention. Each of the over 50 clubs in the 5M1 District (SE Minnesota) is eligible to select a club member for this award annually.
 
 

Byron girls basketball beats K-M

The Byron girls basketball team defeated Kasson-Mantorville 72-39 last week.
For Byron Kayla Stork had six points, Ella Nelson had two points, Carly Halder had two points, Madison Ohm scored 18, Alyse Ayen had six points, Raegan Kelm had three points, Leeah Strain had two points, Taylor Seeger had nine points, and Kendra Harvey scored 24 points in the win.

Lee breaks K-M boys basketball scoring record

Kasson-Mantorville senior Ethan Lee started playing basketball in second grade. He watched Steph Curry play, and he fell in love with the game.
“As a kid I wanted to play in the NBA for the Warriors and be just like him,” Lee said. “As of now, I probably won’t make the NBA, but it would be cool to play overseas one day.”

KMT beats school record; falls to Byron

A number of records were broken at Kasson-Mantorville last week.
The Byron gymnastics team defeated Kasson-Mantorville/Triton and PIZM last week, in a meet at K-M last week.
Byron finished with a season team best of 141.7.
In the all-around Byron swept with Olivia O’Brien winning the event with a score of 35.975, Sydney Portner finished second with a score of 35.875, and Norah Brown finished third with a score of 35.6.

Triton falls to Cannon Falls, Stewartville

The Triton wrestling team was defeated by Cannon Falls, and Stewartville last week.
In its matchup against Cannon Falls Triton fell 42-28.
127: Jaxon Jensen won the 127 pounds weight class, Hunter Garness own the 152 pounds weight class on a fall, Christopher Kasper won the 172 pounds weight class on a fall, and Christian Schrom won the 215 pounds weight class on a forfeit.
Triton also fell to Stewartville 50-20.

Byron wrestling defeats Lake City

The Byron wrestling team defeated Lake City in a dual meet last week 37-33.

Kasson-Mantorville wrestlers Aiden and Owen Friedrich, along with Jonah Coleman were recently recognized for winning 100 matches.

K-M falls to Lourdes

The Kasson-Mantorville girls basketball team fell to Rochester Lourdes last week 53-52.
For K-M Keigan Cummings had 26 points, six rebounds, four assists, and three steals, Delaney Awe had four points, eight rebounds, and two steals, Ava Pitzenberger had two points and five rebounds, Ellen Maeki-Hakola had two points and five rebounds, and Ella Stoskopf had 18 points and 11 rebounds.
 

Hayfield falls to Kenyon-Wanamingo

The Hayfield boys basketball team fell to Kenyon-Wanamingo 63-53 last week.
For Hayfield Charlie Walker had 18 points, six rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
Layne Nelson had finished the game with 12 points, eight rebounds, three assists and a steal. Rylan Nelson finished the game with 11 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
