Hayfield FFA member elected Region VIII officer

Hayfield FFA member Everett Schmeling was recently elected treasurer of the Region VIII officer team, FFA Advisor Jack Crowson said. Also at the region level, Hayfield’s Food Science Technology team placed first in the region for the second time in two years. Team members include Everett, June, Katie, Nikki (1st overall individual), and Scarlett. The Livestock Evaluation Team placed third in the region.

Mollie Allen, in her first year as Kasson-Mantorville agriculture teacher and FFA advisor, is no stranger to the K-M school. “I was born and raised in Kasson and am a 2020 graduate of K-M High School,” Allen said. “In my time at K-M I was an active FFA member serving in various officer positions, competed in general livestock judging, and Farm Bureau Discussion Meet.

Triton FFA Chapter keep busy with events, contests

With a large group of seniors graduating last year, the Triton FFA Chapter started with a very young chapter, Triton agriscience teacher and FFA advisor says. Still, he said, members have been busy this year participating in events, contests and showing at the Minnesota State Fair.

Correction

Due to information received in a press release from the Kasson Alliance for Restoration (KARE) a story in last week’s DCI inaccurately described a purchase agreement entered into by KARE for the sale of the former Kasson school building.
