The Kasson City Council was briefed on a number of different proposals from department heads, which included more than doubling the fire chief’s salary.
Currently, the salary is $6,000. The fire chief’s salary would be raised to $15,000 as part of the proposal.

A landmark lawsuit against the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is underway with oral arguments being given in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in California.

The Kasson Police Department was made aware of a threat of violence “to occur at the Kasson middle school,” at 2:14 p.m., last Thursday according to the Kasson Police Department.
“With the assistance of the Kasson-Mantorville School administration, we immediately began investigating the threat,” the press release read.
