The Kasson-Mantorville boys soccer team opened their season this week by traveling to Roseville to face Concordia Academy on August 24.

The Kasson-Mantorville girls soccer team opened up their 2017 season last week as they hosted Park of Cottage Grove on August 24. While the weather was perfect and the action was fierce, the KoMets would come up empty handed at KMTelecom Stadium falling in a 1-0 match.

A year ago, Kasson- Mantorville boys soccer coach Leo Barbosa took over for Dave Bahr. While he had the experience of coaching with the junior varsity team in his previous season with the KoMets, there still was a bit of a learning curve which all coaches go through when stepping up to the varsity level.

Kasson-Mantorville junior Peyton Suess has been a force since stepping on the court for the volleyball team as an eighth grader. With her size and athleticism creating mismatches for opponents, Suess has become not only one of the top players in the state of Minnesota, but one of the elite prospects in the country.

Roughly ten years ago, Kasson-Mantorville offensive coordinator Terry Donovan remembers when his son, Riley, was first learning about the game of football. After becoming enamored with the sport, he would sit down, turn on ESPN and watch Monday Night Countdown.
