For several years, the Dodge County boys hockey team has done its part in the battle to help support the fight against cancer. On Dec. 8, the Wildcats gathered the community during their game with Becker-Big Lake for the team’s annual Stick It To Cancer event, which raises funds for the Eagles Cancer Telethon.

As a program, there are plenty of sports that people think of when they think  about Kasson-Mantorville athletics. The KoMets have been successful in multiple sports over the past couple of years, but one sport that doesn’t get thought of much is swimming. With no official program at K-M, the thought of swimming kind of gets swept under the rug as kids usually stick to basketball or volleyball.

As any high school athlete heads toward the end of their high school careers, the chance to play their respective sport collegiately is an honor that many don’t to get to receive. With the months winding down before they move on to their college of choosing, National Signing Day is the opportunity to make that dream official as they sign their letter of intent.

Over the summer, K-M alum Braxton Raymond was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. During times such as the one that Raymond is going through, it’s always nice to know that a family is there to have your back.

In the past, the K-M baseball field has represented a random diamond in the middle of nowhere. It’s gotten the job done, but there were little intricacies that hindered the fan experience. With several additions this fall, the hope is that not only will fans be
able to get a better view of the game, but it will make for a better overall experience for everyone involved.

The Kasson-Mantorville vollyball team entered the Minnesota Class AA State Tournament with high hopes. The KoMets entered the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul with a record of 30-2 on the season and had been ranked either first or second in Class AA for the entire season.
