I Was Thinking...Why Camp?

As summer winds down, people are eager to get out to camp one last time before fall schedules begin. At home, most people make a concentrated effort to surround themselves with all the creature comforts they can afford. We carpet our floors, air condition our homes, buy specialized mattresses, and have microwaves to prepare meals faster. Yet we forgo many of these conveniences to go camping.

Construction done — for now

There definitely was joy in Kasson last week as Highway 57 re-opened. Two summers of highway construction is not something that anyone enjoys, even if the end result is an improvement.

Minnesota is more than just the land of 10,000 lakes, it is also home to thousands of farms that grow, produce, and raise the food our country eats every day.

With a cell phone in nearly everyone’s pocket or purse, we can always be in touch.

God of Rest, God of Breath

I love walking outside during the summer in Minnesota. My wife, Lori and I frequently go for walks on trails in the woods. We recently took a walk around Rice Lake. The green plants and trees were so vibrantly green as we walked around the lake. It was a beautiful space to be in and just breathe.
