Just a quick note, I was very impressed with Kay Fate and her way of thinking during the Riess Documentary in Max. We need more people like her, quality journalists with strong opinions and frank attitudes, in this world.

“Sometimes inexperience is the best experience.” Bryce Anderson is part of a new generation of leadership that hopes to make good on that colloquial proverb. Anderson’s grassroots candidacy has surprised many since he emerged on the campaign trail months ago. The Anderson campaign has not responded to inquiries or interview requests. One thing we do know about the candidate is that he is homegrown. Born and raised in Kasson.

For far too many Americans, high drug prices can force difficult choices like whether to ration meds or pay for groceries. This has been true even for seniors covered by Medicare.

Last week the DCI began running a weekly feature called Decision 2024. Candidates for Kasson-Mantorville school board were all asked the same question and their responses printed. A question was also asked of candidates for state representative. This week’s DCI asks a question of the candidates for the Byron school board as well as state representative.

It is now officially fall and we are starting to see a variety of fall events.
This week Homecoming activities are under way at both Byron and Hayfield High Schools and Saturday will see Oktoberfest celebrations sponsored by both the Kasson Public Library and the Kasson Chamber of Commerce.
