Former Kassonite Thomas D. O’Brien (K-M class of ’67) died Wednesday (2/15/17) after a courageous battle against that evil, deadly foe we call cancer.  He had returned to Minnesota after living on the East Coast for many years to winter at the O’Brien family lake home with his wife and son when he was diagnosed.
 

Dorothy A. Johnston, 95, passed away on Feb. 13, 2017, at her residence at Prairie Meadows Sr. Living in Kasson.  
Dorothy was born on Dec. 14, 1921.  She was the eldest of nine children, born to Jacob and Agnes (Krippner) Simons in Stewart, Minnesota.

Lyle Orville Gronvold passed away on Feb. 17, 2017 at the age of 80. Despite the many adversities he faced, Lyle remained courageous and strong until the very end. His final days were spent surrounded by family at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus.

Marsha Durst, 65, of Mantorville, died peacefully at her home in hospice care on Feb. 13, 2017. Through her life, she gave the world as much color and beauty as the flower gardens that she adored.
Marsha Jean Anderst was born Feb. 16, 1951 in Fairmont to Roland and Dorothy Anderst who farmed on the outskirts of town. She had many fond memories of growing up with her two sisters, Leann and Cheryl. 
 

Darrell Frederick Phelps, 79, of Owatonna was called home by his Heavenly Father early Monday morning, Feb. 6, 2017. 

Caleb Robert Nystuen, 28, of Kenyon, died unexpectedly on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017 of complication of diabetes and the flu.
