The Triton Cobras had a successful season on the gridiron that ended just short of an appearance in the section championship game. Despite their disappointment, Triton had a strong representation on the All-District team with six Cobras making the cut.

When a school hires a new coach, it usually means that there is a new guy on the block. However, in the case of new Kasson-Mantorville softball coach Paul Mann, his 20 years of coaching experience means he’s anything but new to the community.

The Kasson-Mantorville volleyball team has had its share of ups and downs this season, but put forth one of their greatest efforts of the season in a loss to Stewartville last Thursday. The four-set loss ends the KoMets’ season, but they have plenty to be proud of after showing plenty of resiliency.

Roberta L. Bradford, 73, of Kasson died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015, at Mayo Clinic – St. Mary’s Campus in Rochester.
She was born on Jan. 7, 1942, to Clarence and Lucille (Herrley) Gladden in Kasson. She was a 1960 graduate of Kasson-Mantorville High School and completed beauty school in the Twin Cities.  She was a beautician in the Kasson-Mantorville area for 44 years.

Like many Minnesotans, my ear was glued to the radio last week when federal and state authorities announced a new development in the decades-old disappearance of Jacob Wetterling.
It’s a shocking crime that captivated the hearts of the entire state back in 1989. And now, 26 years later, it still haunts everybody, as Jacob remains missing. 

Donald George Hope, 85, of Austin passed away on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home after a lingering illness. He was born June 29, 1930, at home in Freeborn County, the son of Theodore and Mary (Hjelman) Hope. Don attended District 1 Country School and graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1948. On June 24, 1953, he was united in marriage to his wife of 62 years, Janet Sauke, in Geneva.

Lorene P. Williamson, age 89 of Blooming Prairie, died peacefully on Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, surrounded by her loving family at Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna. 
Lorene Pearl Madson was born March 9, 1926, in Westfield Township, Dodge County, to Peter and Laura (Nelson) Madson. She grew up in Westfield Township, where she attended grade school, and then Blooming Prairie High School. 

Theda Louise (Harms) Morton, 87 of Blooming Prairie, died Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, at Mayo Clinic Hospital Rochester, St. Mary’s Campus. 
She was born April 6, 1928, to Dick and Louise (Dohrman) Harms in Latimer, Iowa, the oldest of six children: Bertha, Clara, Richard, Walter and Alice.
