Jay Yankowiak and Samantha Hallaway were chosen as Triton’s Homecoming King and Queen Monday night. The two will reign over Homecoming activities this week, culminating in the Friday night football game against St. Charles. New to this year’s festivities will be a Homecoming Parade Friday at 10 a.m. Other Friday activities include a varsity volleyball game at 1:30 p.m.

104 and still going

“Come on in and sit down,” Lucia Althoff said to each person as they made their way into the dining room at Fieldcrest Care Center in Hayfield last week. Althoff, known to everyone as
”Gramma Gua,” was the honored guest as she celebrated her 104th birthday on Thursday, and she was clearly enjoying the surprise that had awaited her when she went to the dining room early in the afternoon.

All good things must come to an end, and for Tweite’s Family Farm that time has come, after serving as a local family attraction for the past 31 years.

Donald Dray, 82, Austin

Donald (Donnie) Duane Dray, age 82 of Austin, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019 at Good Samaritan Society – Comforcare in Austin.
Don was born on Sept. 28, 1936, in Blooming Prairie, to William and Jane (Long) Dray. He was baptized and confirmed at the Community Lutheran Church in Geneva. He attended school in Blooming Prairie and was on the high school wrestling team.

Over the years you’ve likely heard the phrase, “It takes village to raise a child.” For obvious reasons, it often falls onto the entire community to bring up a child, especially in the world we live in today.
I have a slight variation of the common phrase as it applies to putting out a community newspaper. “It takes a village to put out a community paper.”

Quinten Erle Frarck, 71, Rochester

Quinten Erle Frarck, 71, peacefully slipped from his earthly bonds Monday, Sept. 9, 2019, at Season’s Hospice House, Rochester,  following a courageous two and a half year battle with metastatic prostate cancer.
